Welcome!
Therapy designed with you, to suit you. Sessions are £55 for an hour.
In-person (Dundee), online (UK-wide), or walk-and-talk (Dundee).
I’m Sally (she/her), and I believe that as naturally-imperfect humans living in a complex world, we can all occasionally struggle. Modern life is difficult for a lot of us, and truly hard going at times. It often feels unsustainable when we’re under extra pressure from burdens like bereavement, stress, relationship or health issues. Helping people cope with difficulty, make sense of their lives, and move forwards - that is why I love being a counsellor.
Most people find me here because they’re struggling in some way. While I hope this isn’t the case for you, I’m glad you’re reaching out for help if you do need it. I have experience of working with a wide range of problems - see My Counselling for details, and how I might help you. Further information on what to expect from your therapy can be found in The Details.
Perhaps you’re just curious, or not sure whether counselling is right for you - never mind what aspects of it could be helpful, or even exactly what might be wrong. That’s the unmistakable benefit of therapy - we can work that out together.

Who am I?
If I am to label myself, I guess I’m a white Scottish, cisgender, middle-aged woman from a diverse working background, with a bucketload of other experiences! I’ve lived a full life as a partner, parent and friend. And - like most people - my life hasn’t always been easy.
I know myself what it is to struggle with illness and mental health. I’ve made mistakes I regret, and sometimes I’ve hurt others. But I’ve also had lots of happiness in my life, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have been helped when I needed it and been able to help others in return. Why am I sharing this? Because coming through the harder times, balancing my past and present (good and bad), learning how to both accept things and change things - these are what give me such certainty that our lives can always get better. I’ve experienced for myself how much the right support can help.

I’m a pluralistic therapist, taking a client-centred, collaborative approach. We believe that everyone is unique and so no one answer is right for all. I see you as my co-expert, and honour your knowledge, experience, thoughts and preferences. As we explore emotions, cognitions and behaviours, I use my diverse but detailed knowledge (and life experience) to offer helpful perspectives from across suitable therapies and suggest ways of working towards what you want - see My Counselling for more details. Throughout our time together, I’ll guide you in whatever steps you choose, working towards what you choose to achieve, in ways that suit you best.
I love walking, gardening, cooking, animals, our coastlines and highlands. I’m interested in people, communities, and cultures, and I’m continually learning about experiences and perspectives that differ from my own. In the past, I’ve worked in software development, product management, retail and office roles, and health services. I’ve volunteered at a listening service, choosing to be there for others in some of their most difficult times. I bring all of my experience and knowledge into my counselling and will gladly offer it if it might benefit you.
